What does s.a.m health cost and what do you get for it?
Our Mission: Making Sexual Health Accessible to Everyone
As a non-profit project of Deutsche Aidshilfe, we operate without any profit motive. Every euro goes into laboratory analysis, counselling and operations. Our prices are fairly calculated and fully transparent.
Our Test Kits
Complete STI Test Kit (HIV, Syphilis, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea): €75
Our most comprehensive kit screens for all four STIs in one go. Recommended for anyone testing for the first time or wanting a complete overview of their status.
Our HIV test can reliably rule out an infection just 6 weeks after a risk event — pharmacy rapid tests require 12 weeks for the same level of certainty.
HIV & Syphilis Test Kit: €69
For those who test regularly for HIV and syphilis. Particularly relevant with higher exposure risk.
Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Test Kit: €65
Chlamydia is the most common bacterial STI in Germany, often without symptoms. Gonorrhoea infections are on the rise. This kit tests for both.
Why does it cost this much?
Until 2024, we subsidised a large share of our real costs through third-party funding. That was not sustainable long-term. Our current prices reflect what discreet, discrimination-free STI care with accredited laboratory analysis and personal counselling actually costs — with no profit margin and no hidden fees.
STI screening at a doctor's practice in Germany is rarely covered by statutory health insurance. Privately, a comparable panel typically costs between €80 and €150 depending on the practice, without the specialist counselling from Deutsche Aidshilfe included in our service.
