STI home test with laboratory analysis
Which sexually transmitted infections does the STI test screen for?
With the STI test from s.a.m health, you can get tested for the most common sexually transmitted infections. The test kit screens for HIV, syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhoea. Various samples are taken for analysis. The test kit contains a mouth swab, an anal swab, a urine collection kit and a kit for taking a blood sample from your fingertip. The results are analysed by a professional laboratory. This means you receive a medically sound laboratory analysis with high diagnostic value.
When and for whom is an STI test recommended?
Getting tested for STIs regularly is an important part of healthcare for sexually active people. Testing is particularly recommended after having sex without a condom or other effective risk-reduction measures, if you have multiple partners, if you are using PrEP, or in connection with drug use. To ensure that the STI test result is accurate, the diagnostic window following a high-risk encounter should be respected:
- Chlamydia infection: approximately 2–3 days
- Gonorrhoea infection: approximately 2–3 days
- HIV infection: 6 weeks
- Syphilis infection: 10 weeks
Many sexually transmitted infections do not cause any symptoms at first. This means that infections can often be passed on without anyone realising. Your Checkpoint will be happy to advise you on the best testing schedule for you.

Is the STI test anonymous and reliable?
The STI test from s.a.m health is highly reliable, as the results are analysed exclusively in a certified medical laboratory. The analysis is based on established diagnostic procedures. At the same time, we place the utmost importance on your privacy. You will receive your test kit in neutral packaging at your home or a automated parcel locker; samples are identified in the laboratory solely by codes. Results are never sent by email – only via your secure account.
What happens if the STI test is positive?
Once the results are available, you’ll be notified that something has been updated in your account. If your samples are negative (no evidence of sexually transmitted infections), you can view this in your account. If a test comes back positive or reactive, you’ll see a request in your account to call your Checkpoint back. There, you can discuss the next steps with the person on the line. We’ll never leave you to deal with your results on your own.
